BALTIMORE, Maryland (WBAL) — A grand jury indicted the teen squeegee worker accused of shooting and killing 48-year-old Timothy Reynolds in downtown Baltimore.

WBAL-TV 11 News is not naming the teen charged because the case could be sent back to juvenile court.

The 15-year-old was indicted on first-degree murder charges during the July 7 shooting, a decision that sends the case to adult court.

The teen’s lawyer, Warren Brown, said he is working on getting it sent back to juvenile court.

“We’re talking about a 14-year-old kid who has never been involved in the juvenile system,” Brown said.

The teen was 14 when the shooting happened and has since turned 15 years old.

Brown said the charges don’t match the crime.

“A guy gets out, goes after these guys with a bat, however, it unfolds at trial. This is not something that was planned, this is something that was spontaneous,” Brown said.

The 11 News I-Team watched a dash camera video of the shooting and watched it with Brown, who said it does not definitively show what happened.

“Those guys, I think they’re walking up right there. And then they start to run back. I’m not sure who is who, I’m not even sure who my client is,” he said.

Brown said he will file a motion to transfer the case to juvenile court, and a judge will have the final say.

“To say that this is a mature, adult-thinking individual at the age of 14 is absurd and ridiculous. We understand this is a very emotional situation, someone lost their life,” Brown said.
