Vehicle crash west of Lava Hot Springs closes lanes

UPDATE 4:05 P.M. 10/7/18: At 1:10 p.m. Idaho State Police investigated a deadly crash on US-30, west of Lava Hot Springs.

22-year-old Jason Huffine, of Pocatello, was driving a 2006 Harley Davidson west on Highway 30.

61-year-old Marea Betty of Lava Hot Springs was pulling out from a private drive in 2008 Ford Edge.

The motorcycle hit the Ford.

Huffine died of his injuries at the scene.

Betty was taken by ground ambulance to Portneuf Regional Medical Center.

Huffine was not wearing a helmet.

Betty was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The lanes were blocked for two and a half hours while crews worked to clear the scene.

ORIGINAL STORY: Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle crash heading west on U.S. Highway 30 at milepost 367 west of Lava Hot Springs.

The west and eastbound lanes are blocked at this time.
