Skiers escape Jackson Hole Resort avalanche
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort confirms a Saturday morning avalanche on the Expert Chutes caught a number of skiers.
However, were accounted for and are safe.
The Thunder Lift was closed for the day while the Jackson Hole Ski Patrol evaluated the runs and conducted avalanche reduction efforts.
The Associated Press said 15 to 20 people were on the slope when the 150-foot wide avalanche occurred. AP reported the avalanche was triggered by skiers and that five people were buried to varying degrees.
