SEIPH hosts tree lighting ceremony

Southeastern Idaho Public Health held its 28th annual memorial tree lighting ceremony Monday night.

Participants were able to place ornaments and ribbons on the trees in memory of loved ones.

There was also a candle lighting ceremony with the Century High School choir.

“Century high school choir, they come in and they sing a song that is special to the event,” says Public Information Specialist, Dana Soloman. “It’s called the keeper of the flame and we have cider and cookies to enjoy after the actual ceremony outside. We do a candlelight vigil out to the trees in the grove then we take a moment of silence to remember those that we love.”

The trees will stay lit until January 2nd.

After that, the ribbons will be held inside for people to pick up.
