Drivers in Canada will now lose their license if they illegally pass a school bus

Canada drivers will now face quite the penalty for illegally passing a school bus on the road.

According to a post from CBC News, drivers who do not stop for a school bus will lose their license for three months and could face up to a $5,000 fine. It will take effect Dec. 8 in the Price Edward Island province of Canada.

CBC News reports drivers can get their licenses back after meeting with highway safety officials, pay a $100 reinstatement fee and take a defensive driving course within a six month period of getting their license reinstated.
