Hotel mogul, UFO believer spending in Nevada governor’s race

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Las Vegas-based hotel magnate and longtime UFO researcher Robert Bigelow has donated, through his owned companies, a total of $5.7 million to Joe Lombardo’s campaign or PACs supporting his campaign this election cycle. In a Nevada gubernatorial campaign that is already the third most expensive in terms of direct contributions in state history — and on pace to break the 2018 record for most money raised — Bigelow has made himself the biggest spender in a swing race that has implications for how inflation, reproductive rights and the Democratic hold on Carson City are seen in the eyes of a diverse electorate.
