Man accused of running over worker over use of parking lot

A man is accused of running over a Salt Lake City restaurant employee who confronted the man about unauthorized use of the business’ parking lot.

A criminal information filed Wednesday charges 27-year-old Patrick Walker of Sandy with aggravated assault and failure to stop at a serious accident.

A police probable-cause statement said the worker who confronted Walker Dec. 14 suffered several leg fractures and soft-tissue injuries.

The statement said Walker’s pickup knocked the worker down and then ran over him as the vehicle moved forward, backed up and went forward again before being driven away.

Police Sgt. Brandon Shearer said Walker had been using the parking lot recently to drop off his girlfriend, who works nearby.

Court records don’t list an attorney for Walker who could comment on the allegations.
