Coins for Christmas breaks records

Rimrock Elementary School broke records as they wrapped up their annual “Coins for Christmas.”

Students raised $4,326.21 which will help buy 137 pairs of shoes for needy kids. East Idaho Credit Union works with school counselors to find students in need.

To celebrate the record-breaking amount, kids were able to duct tape their principal, Steven Cziep, to a wall.

“I’m super proud of them, they did an amazing job this year,” Cziep said. “They started out slow and we were a little bit worried but they came through for us and broke a record so it was really cool.”

The students were able to raise over $600 more this year than they did last year.

The program helps kids all over eastern Idaho.

East Idaho Credit Union is still accepting donations at any location.
