EIRMC to offer blood screenings

Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center is offering reduced-fee Healthy Heart blood test screenings prior to its Health Fair in February.

For $20, adults can have their blood drawn and tested for total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglyceride, and blood glucose levels. The tests can indicate risk factors for heart disease.

The drawings will be held January 24, 25, 31 and February 1 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. each morning at the EIRMC Medical Office Building Lobby. No appointments are needed, but participants will need to fast for 10 hours prior to their blood being drawn.

The results will be made available at the hospital’s Heart and Health Fair February 16. The Health Fair, also in the office building lobby, will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Participants will be able to speak with a cardiac registered nurse one-on-one about their test results. Several other free health screenings and health care professionals will also be available.

Last year, almost 400 people took advantage of the screening.
