Flood Watch issued for Wednesday night and Thursday
FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH LATE THURSDAY
NIGHT…
The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a
* Flood Watch for portions of south central Idaho, south central
Idaho, and southeast Idaho, including the following areas, in
south central Idaho, Eastern Magic Valley. In south central
Idaho, Shoshone/Lava Beds. In southeast Idaho, Blackfoot
Mountains, Franklin/Eastern Oneida Region, Lower Snake River
Plain, Marsh and Arbon Highlands, Raft River Region, and
Southern Hills/Albion Mountains.
* From late tonight through late Thursday night
* Warm temperatures will push into southeast Idaho tonight, and
snow will begin to change over to rain. Temperatures will
continue to rise tomorrow, accelerating snowmelt. This will lead
to areas of water ponding in low-lying areas below 5500 ft.
* Water may encroach onto roads and storm drains may become
blocked.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
