Vehicle found submerged in water
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) - UPDATE 1 p.m. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was notified by a concerned citizen in the area of 433 N. 4200 E. his neighbor was out of town, and he had observed his neighbors shed door ajar.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence, just south of where the vehicle was located in the water Monday morning. Deputies observed a broken window on the residence.
The homeowner was contacted and advised. Jefferson County Sheriff’s K 9 unit was deployed, and the suspect was apprehended inside the residence without incident.
The suspect is identified as 61-year-old Chris E. Daniels from Rigby.
ORIGINAL: On Monday around 8:30 a.m., Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies and Jefferson County Tech rescue responded to a vehicle in the dry bed located at 433 N. 4200 E.
Emergency responders located a white 1999 Honda Civic submerged approximately 20 yards downstream from the bridge.
The vehicle was unoccupied and unattended.
Jefferson County emergency responders are still trying to locate the owner of the vehicle and determine they are safe and accounted for.
