Construction work begins Monday in Pocatello and Blackfoot
Crews will not let much spring weather to go by before launching street projects in Blackfoot and Pocatello.
In Pocatello, crews will begin replacing a sewer line along West Griffith Road on Monday. The project will extend from McKinley Avenue to Yellowstone Avenue. Work will be underway from 7 a.m. to around 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The project will take about 60 days. Affected residents should park away from the area and they will be notified of any planned disruption of service.
Anyone with questions should contact Project Engineer Austin Suing at 208-234-6513.
Pocatello crews will also begin installing a new water project on Fir Street Monday. The project includes a new water main line, fire hydrants and water meter boxes. Workers will be on the job from around 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the street will be completely closed while digging is underway. Local access will be provided as much as possible, but parking will be restricted in the construction zone. There could be short-term service disruptions, so people in the area may want to keep a supply of drinking water available. The project will take about three weeks.
Questions should be directed to the Pocatello Water Department at 208-234-6182.
In Blackfoot, Intermountain Gas plans to relocate its gas main on Luther Way beginning Monday. The gas company has notified affected businesses that the street will be closed to traffic Monday and Tuesday.
Any questions should be directed to Intermountain Gas at 208-637-6411.
