Wardens investigate trumpeter swan death
Wyoming Game and Fish Warden Jon Stephens was called to investigate when a resident north of Jackson found a deposit of feathers at the doorstep.
It happened earlier this winter. Stephens found a dead trumpeter swan carcass lying along the side of the house.
The officer followed tracks left at the scene and determined the perpetrator was clearly a mountain lion. No one has a clue why the lion chose to partially consume the swan at the front door step.
With the homeowner’s permission, Stephens installed a trail camera to learn more about the mountain lion. The animal did not return.
