Idaho Falls slates community cleanup

If there’s a white elephant lying around on your Idaho Falls property, mark your calendar for May 3 thru May 13.

The city’s “Clean and Green” citywide cleanup starts on May 3, marking the tenth anniversary of the Idaho Falls program.

The city’s public works department will coordinate a program to help residents dispose of anything from old couches to yard debris.

Paper shredding will be provided by Western Records Destruction on May 11 from 10 a.m. till Noon at the Kingston Plaza parking lot at 1545 W. Broadway. There is a 2-4 box maximum per customer.

Information about recycling, hazardous materials, and waste dumpster locations is available on the city’s main website or by calling 208-612-8491. You can find specific information about recycling programs here.

Parks and Recreation officials are also organizing volunteers to help clean up Rosehill Cemetery prior to Memorial Day. That effort will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 4. For more information call Coordinator Mason Handke at 208-612-8786.
