Symphony director signs 3-year contract

Idaho Falls Symphony Music Director Dr. Thomas Heuser has signed a three-year contract extension.

Heuser has served in the post since 2011 and is the symphony’s 10th music director. He is also coductor of the San Juan Symphony in Durango, Colorado and Farmington, New Mexico. He commutes to Idaho Falls from Durango.

“Thank you to the entire Idaho Falls Symphony community for your continued love and support,” said Heuser in a statement. “We have such a fantastic orchestra, I am grateful to each and every musician for their time and talents because, without their hard work and dedication, none of this would be possible. We have so much to look forward to next season and beyond; it is an honor to be your music director.”

The Symphony Board of Directors is streamlining its behind-the-scenes administration, as well. Existing positions of Personnel Manager and Production Manager have been fused into one Operations Manager position. An Office Manager position was created to focus on daily interactions between the symphony and the public.

According to Executivfe Director Alekzandria Peugh, We want to continue to grow, and as we do, our goal is to become more efficient and to focus on improving the Symphony experience for our audiences and musicians, which is at the core of our mission.”
