Habitat for Humanity Restore hosting an “Evening in the Garden”

The Habitat for Humanity Restore in Pocatello is hosting an “Evening in the Garden” Friday, May 17, at the Pinehurst Nursery.

The event, which features a catered dinner, silent auction and a meet and greet with Discovery Channel’s Jeff Zausch among other things, is aimed at raising funds for the store’s newest home build.

All of the proceeds will go towards the new Randolph Ave home, the store’s 14th, which they plan to break ground on sometime in late spring or early summer.

“Our goal is $5,000,” store manager Katie Counts said. “Of course, any amounts helps us in our end goal.”

The store has invited many local officials, such as the Pocatello Mayor Brian Blad and Chubbuck Mayor Kevin England, as well as Governor Brad Little.

“We’re not just building homes, we’re changing lives,” Counts said. “It’s a really great thing to get to bring everybody together to do that, in support of people that are in need.”

Tickets to the event are $25 and can be purchased at the Restore’s Pocatello location.
