Exit 80 interchange plans up for review
Final design plans for the Interstate 15 Fort Hall exit will be available for review as the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) and Shoshone-Bannock Tribes host a public open house Wednesday.
The Exit 80 interchange will be the primary entrance to the Fort Hall community. The existing interchange was built in 1958.
According to ITD, the design will include two lanes in either direction with a center lane on the bridge over Interstate 15. It will improve the exit by providing longer and wider interchange ramps, a six-foot shoulder for safer pedestrian and bicycle crossing. The project will also include six new bridges over Ross Fork Creek and the Town Lateral Canal, along with improved lighting, landscaping, irrigation, and cattle guards.
Construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2022.
The open house is set from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel on Wednesday, May 15.
