Burn ban ordered in Power County
Power County Sheriff Jim Jeffries has declared a moratorium on burning.
The ban applies to all areas of the county that are not within a fire district. He said fire conditions are adverse and pose an increased hazard for fires.
The moratorium does not prohibit recreational camp fires or a compliant burn barrel.
He said the moratorium will not be lifted until weather or other conditions no longer pose a high risk for wildland fires.
