Police: Suspect shot worker at Amazon hub, then is shot dead

CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) — Police say a person with a gun shot and wounded a contract worker outside an Amazon delivery station in Arizona before a second worker who was armed fatally shot the suspect. Authorities said the second contract worker possibly stopped an active shooter situation Wednesday at the delivery hub in the Phoenix suburb of Chandler. Police say the shooting suspect, who wasn’t an Amazon employee, shot the unarmed contracted worker multiple times before being fatally shot in the parking lot. There was no initial report on a possible motive. An Amazon spokesman says the company is deeply saddened by the shooting and is working closely with law enforcement as it investigates.
