Linda Larsen

KIFI

Linda Larsen is a news anchor and reporter at KIFI/KIDK. Linda has been a part of the Local News 8 team since she was right out of college at Idaho State University.

She worked as a reporter and weekend news anchor from 1986 until 1991 when she then took a couple of decades off to raise 3 beautiful kids.

During that time, she was still a part of the Local News 8 team as a fill-in anchor, reporter and photographer. She especially loved all the time spent traveling to do Wednesday’s Child reports with Jay Hildebrandt. Being able to help place kids in loving homes is truly a highlight of her time at the station.

She has received several awards for her broadcast work including spot news story of the year and Idaho photographer of the year.

Linda also comes from a professional dance and musical theater background. She is the owner and Director of Sunrise Dance Academy and has enjoyed being involved in many community performances as well as national and international tours. One of the most amazing experiences she has had was being able to perform on the Great Wall of China.

For the last several years, Local News 8 has been reaching out to Linda to return to the station. She finally agreed in March and has loved every minute of it.

She grew up in Pocatello, so she is very connected to the people and loves the Southeastern Idaho way of life.

In addition to her Local News 8 job, Linda keeps busy anchoring a radio news program for NPR, operating her dance studio, choreographing for several dance companies throughout the west, working as a publicist for an international pianist and vocal performer and working for and scouting talent for an agency in Salt Lake City. She is thrilled to be back at KIFI/KIDK.
