BALTIMORE, Maryland (WJZ) — Four people, including a child, were hurt after the driver of a Tesla crashed into a kids hair salon Monday afternoon in Annapolis, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

Emergency responders were called around 3 p.m. to the Pigtails and Crewcuts: Haircuts for Kids in the Riva Shopping Center on Forest Drive for a crash into a building.

Three adults, and a child who was a customer, were injured, authorities say.

The driver remained at the scene, police said.

One of the hairstylists, who was in the process of sitting down with a small toddler and his parents before the crash, told WJZ that the driver was trying to park in front when it jumped the curb and crashed into the building.

“All of a sudden, this car comes flying through and we all just kind of ran up here,” said Shelly Paddy. “I don’t know what else to do.”

The car came to a stop inside the child’s play area.

“I think we’re all lucky that we weren’t in the crossfire because it could have been bad,” said Paddy.

The car was towed from the scene.

A building inspector came to look over the damage the building sustained.

Crews then boarded up the front of the unit with plywood.

Next door from the hair salon, there is a tutoring center, where Shane Ryan watched the crash unfold before heading over to offer help.

“When accidents happen, you just have to be grateful they don’t result in anything too serious. The building will be okay. That’s what insurance is for. You can’t get insurance on someone’s life,” said Shane Ryan.

Police are investigating the crash.
