Lava Hot Springs hosts annual Fire & Ice Winterfest

LAVA HOT SPRINGS, Idaho (KIFI) - This weekend the annual Fire and Ice Winterfest took over Lava Hot Springs.

The festival made USA Today's list of the 10 zaniest festivals in the world, and it's easy to see why. 

From herds of people floating the ice cold Portneuf River, to people running down main street in their swimsuits, there was no shortage of entertainment. 

The event also included wine and chili tasting, an ice pulling competition, a penguin float race and nightly fireworks. 

The festival runs Friday, February 4 through Saturday.
