D25 closes school starting Tuesday

POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 decided to close school beginning Tuesday, March 17 during a Board of Trustees Special Meeting Monday afternoon.

Superintendent Doug Howell said as of Monday afternoon, 57 percent of Idaho school districts have closed.

There will be no school held Tuesday, March 17 through Friday, April 3, 2020.

The emergency closure days will be treated similarly to snow days.

No new school work will be assigned during any emergency closure days.

Staff and administration will be available at each school building on Tuesday, March 17 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. for learners to pick up any of their personal items.

Moving forward, the PCSD 25 administrative team will reconvene on Monday, March 30 to evaluate the situation and discuss if any further closure is warranted.

Further plans will be developed at that time with recommendations presented to the Board of Trustees on Monday afternoon at a time to be determined.
