Pocatello Zoo Opens Children’s Wildlife Theater

The Pocatello Zoo has a new program for kids and held the grand opening Saturday.

The zoo’s Children’s Wildlife Theater fulfills a dream for many of the zoo staff to give kids a more interactive experience with the animals.

The zoo was able to build the new theater because of donations from Fred Meyer and U.S. Bancorp.

Zoo curators said the brand new theater will help kids learn a lot more about the native animals from the area.

“It’s going to enable us to do more free programming for students and for families to come and have education programs and get up and close and personal with animal ambassadors,? Zoo Curator of Education Kate O’Connor said.

The zoo will hold programs for kids at the wildlife theater every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
