Multiple Agencies Respond To Fire In St. Anthony

Several Upper Valley firefighters are recovering from heat exhaustion after battling a blaze all day Sunday in the warm weather.

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office said a call came in shortly before 10:30 Sunday morning, reporting a fire at the Willmore Lumber Co. on South Yellowstone in St. Anthony.

Multiple agencies from Fremont and Madison counties fought flames that completely destroyed a planer building, which houses finished wood products.

Deputies said no one was at the company when the fire started and they don’t know what caused it.

Some bystanders and residents thought the fire may have been related to a fireworks show Saturday night.

Sheriff Len Humphries believed that was unlikely, but said the fire marshal will be on scene Monday morning to investigate.
