8-Year-Old Plans Fundraiser

A local 8-year-old girl is putting together her own fundraiser to help the victims of the Arizona wildfires.

Dorothy Martin and her parents used to live in Arizona and still have family and friends there.

When Dorothy heard about the devastation caused by the Wallow Wildfire, she wanted to do something on her own to help.

With some advice from her mom and dad, Dorothy came up with an idea for a barbecue and silent auction to help rebuild the homes of families whose houses were destroyed in the wildfire.

“Well my goal was $3,000, and I think I’m going to make way more than that,? Dorothy said.

The Arizona Wildfire Relief Barbecue and Silent Auction will go on at the fields on Booth Road in Pocatello at 5 p.m Sunday.
