Tautphaus Park Zoo Welcomes Baby Boom

The Tautphaus Park Zoo is having a baby boom and they want you to come see their new additions.

The new star of the show is a baby monkey named Soldier.

Soldier was born unable to cling to his mother, so zookeepers are taking special care of him.

They’ve covered his exhibit where he lives with his parents, but through a camera and TV set you can still see him on a screen on the wall.

Zoo superintendent Beth Rich said the new babies are a delight to see.

“Spend a little time being observant and watching for the animals. You’ll get to see some really beautiful and unusual parental behavior that you may not get to see at other times of year,” said Rich.

The zoo also has new baby birds, Spurwing Lapwings and Red and Yellow Barbets, which they’ve never been able to hatch before.
