Police Investigate 2 Mall Thefts

The Idaho Falls Police Department is investigating recent thefts from two different businesses at the Grand Teton Mall.

Both thefts happened on separate days this past weekend, IFPD spokeswoman Joelyn Hansen said. It is unknown if they are related.

On Friday, workers at the NYS sunglasses kiosk reported to police cash had been taken from their locked cash register after business hours. The incident occurred sometime after 9 p.m. on Thursday, Hansen said.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken. Police have no suspects.

On Saturday, police said employees at the Victoria?s Secret reported a theft of $3,500 in perfume from the store. The manager told police the thefts likely occurred during store hours while employees were distracted.

This is the second time Victoria?s Secret has reported a large theft of perfume, Hansen said.

Anyone with information about either theft is asked to contact the IFPD at 208-529-1200 or Crimestoppers at 208-522-1983.
