Police Make Drug, Gun Arrest

Idaho Falls police arrested a 20-year-old man on Monday morning on charges of possession of methamphetamine and a loaded handgun after an attempted traffic stop.

According to the police report, police attempted to stop the man who was driving a green Chevrolet Cavalier at Woodruff and Hoopes around 1 a.m. However, driver sped away.

Officers said they found the car and while looking for the driver found two bags of methamphetamine, equaling about 4.825 grams, on the ground near the driver?s side door.

Officers located the driver about 100 feet away. He was in possession of a concealed handgun, police said.
