Soldier Receives Warm Welcome

A local solider returned home from Iraq Wednesday to a very special surprise.

To give their dad a big welcome home the Harmon family painted a giant American flag in their front yard.

It took three hours and 17 spray cans.

They made a welcome home poster, decorated more than a dozen rocks, and even painted Captain America’s symbol in the yard.

Sgt. 1st Class Scott Harmon’s three children say they couldn’t be more proud.

This was Harmon’s second deployment to Iraq.

Harmon is an Idaho Falls High School math teacher.
