Boise Police Shoot Mountain Lion Near Hospital

Boise police officers have shot and killed a mountain lion that was prowling near a hospital in the center of town.

The animal was shot early Thursday morning after several people called 911 to report they’d seen the animal walking on the grounds of St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.

Police believe the mountain lion was the same one seen on the Boise State University campus earlier this week.

Authorities were warning Boise residents to be careful because of the mountain lion sightings, saying large predators can be a serious threat to public safety.
