Flags Given To Local First Responders

Mayors from three local cities received special flags Friday paying tribute to 9/11 and local first responders.

With the 10th anniversary of the events of Sept. 11 almost upon us, Pocatello business owner Dennis Jablonski decided to help local cities honor the memory of 9/11 and those who gave their lives that day.

In a ceremony Friday, Jablonski presented a dozen 3-by-5 foot flags to the mayors, fire departments and police of Pocatello, Chubbuck and American Falls.

The flags show the New York City skyline, with beams of light illuminating the site of the twin towers.

Jablonski owns Sign-A-Rama, and he said he knew he needed to do something for the anniversary of 9/11.

?We’ve always been a company that likes to give back to the community. A little over a month ago, one of the suppliers sent us a sample of this particular flag, and I said, ‘What a fitting tribute to give to our first responders,’? Jablonski said.

When more flags arrive next week, Jablonski is planning to give another dozen to local individuals.
