New Fire Burns On Chinese Peak
There is a fire burning east of Pocatello over Chinese Peak in the Black Rock Canyon area.
Several agencies are out fighting the fire.
The Bannock County Sheriffs Office says no one is threatened and there is no estimate on acreage.
Fire crews from Chubbuck, Pocatello, Inkom, Portneuf Valley, The Bureau of Land Management, Search and Rescue, as well as the Bannock Country Sheriff’s Office are helping.
It is believed that a ricochet from a bullet is what sparked the fire.
Trails in the area were already closed do to the Drive-In Fire in August.
