Idaho Food Bank Gets $10,000 Donation

Local food stores have teamed up to help feed the needy in the community.

Associated Food stores, along with Unilever, donated $10,000 to the Idaho Food Bank Tuesday.

At some local stores, 10 cents from the sale of every Unilever owned brand, like Dove, Skippy, or Best Foods, was set aside to help out the food bank.

The Idaho Food Bank said with this $10,000 donation it will be able to provide 30,000 meals.

?Our goal is to feed the hungry in Idaho, and there’s more and more need at the same time that budget cutbacks keep pushing it down,? Idaho Food Bank representative Roy Lacey said.

Lacey said over the last four years the food bank has needed to almost double the amount of food it gives out.
