Suspect Charged With Battery After Traffic Altercation

Apparent “road rage” led to one arrest in Pocatello at around 4 p.m. Thursday. Pocatello police say officers were investigating a traffic accident that turned into a disturbance when one of the drivers assaulted another with a baseball bat.

The other driver’s vehicle was damaged by the bat. Police arrested Nicholas Goodwin for aggravated assault and cited him for vandalism. Police say the other driver was cited for fail to yield a left turn.

They say a citizen who witnessed the incident captured the assault on a cell phone camera before Goodwin briefly left the scene and concealed the bat. Goodwin was being held in the Bannock County Jail.
