Challis Man Dies In Car Accident

A Challis man is dead following a two-car crash on State Highway 75 at the US Highway 93 Junction near Challis on Sunday.

Idaho State Police say just before 2:15 p.m. Sunday, 18-year-old Adam Smith, of Challis, was driving a pickup truck and failed to yield to oncoming traffic. He was hit on the driver’s side by a pickup truck driven by 42-year-old Ronald A. Rembelski, also of Challis.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. Rembelski and his two passengers were taken to Steele Memorial in Salmon where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
