Police Find 242 Pounds Of Pot On Truck
A truck driver is in jail after police found 242 pounds of marijuana on the truck during a traffic stop near Evanston on Interstate 80.
Hazem Izzat, 50, was driving a trailer carrying a load of cars from California to Detroit, police said. When police and their K-9 searched the trailer, police said they found the pot in the trunk of two cars.
The street value of the pot found on the truck is about $1.7 million.
Izzat is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
