Man Avoids Jail Time For 2009 Jackson Bar Fight

A man who pleaded guilty in connection with a Jackson bar fight will be able to stay out of jail if he avoids getting into more fights.

A judge sentenced Joshua Anders Rae to a year of probation on Tuesday following a long and emotional sentencing hearing. The man Rae injured in the 2009 fight behind the Town Square Tavern, Brent Owen, attended with his family and friends. Owen was hospitalized for three weeks.

Rae pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and had faced up to a year in prison.

The Jackson Hole Daily (http://bit.ly/xPt5Yz ) reported Rae was also ordered to pay more than $6,000 in fines. Under his probation, Rae is barred from contacting Owen or his family or fighting. If he violates those terms, he could end up behind bars.
