Rigby Man Killed In Rollover Accident
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly car accident.
According to the sheriff’s office, the crash happened early Sunday morning, along 4100 East near 132 North in Rigby.
Brian Rumsey, 23, was driving his Jeep Grand Cherokee when it suddenly veered into the oncoming lane, before overcorrecting and spinning into a power pole, investigators said.
When officers arrived at the scene, they said Rumsey had been partially ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passenger, Jamie Rumsey, 21, was thrown from the vehicle and treated for minor injuries.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, however investigators believe weather was not a factor.
