ITD Outlines 2012 Construction Plans

The Idaho Transportation Department has planned 31 construction projects in eastern Idaho this year.

The biggest will be replacing the Pancheri bridge over Interstate-15 in Idaho Falls.

The new overpass will be 80 feet wide with two lanes in each direction as well as bike and pedestrian lanes.

ITD spokesperson Bruce King says the current span, built in 1962, has reached its design life.

“Part of the project will include replacing the approached to the overpass so that will significantly improve the traffic flow in that area,? King.

The overpass will remain open until the new bridge is finished.

ITD also plans to replace the I-15 overpass in Dubois.

The projects are expected to be complete by the end of the year.
