Bank Donates To IF YMCA, Rescue Mission

Wells Fargo just turned 160, and to celebrate, it’s giving back to the community. Sixteen nonprofits in eastern Idaho will be handed a big check, and on Friday, the first two were honored, the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission and the Idaho Falls YMCA.

Both organizations accepted their $10,000 respective checks at the Wells Fargo in downtown Idaho Falls.

The YMCA came fully loaded with children to accept the big check and with a little coaxing, they even sang a song of thanks.

For folks at the YMCA, the money came as a surprise.

?We were so excited, we were like, ?Oh my gosh!?? said Bitsy Blakely, the CEO of the Idaho Falls YMCA. ?We didn?t even know it was coming. We didn?t apply for a grant or anything like that. And we just started thinking the money will go to scholarships for those who can?t afford a membership, and it?ll also help send kids to camp.?

The bank has donated $2.5 million to more than 60 nonprofits across the country.
