Pocatello Man Charged With Felony Injury To A Child
A 26-year-old Pocatello man is being held in the Bannock County jail on charges of felony injury to a child after admitting to striking his 6-year-old son, police said. The suspect is identified as Anthony Blake Viles.
The boy was flown to Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City with undisclosed injuries.
Pocatello Police Department spokesperson Dianne Brush says police were notified of the incident by Portneuf Medical Center personnel at 1 p.m. Thursday. Police arrested Viles at the hospital, then obtained a search warrant for the home.
The Bannock County Prosecutor’s office is monitoring the boy’s condition.
