Tautphaus Park Zoo Opens Saturday

Rain or shine, the Tautphaus Park Zoo in Idaho Falls will be open for business.

Visitors can expect to see brand-new faces at the zoo, including baby wallabies poking their heads out of their mother’s pouches, and the new white-faced whistling ducks in with the flamingos and their new pool.

Some new additions to the facility include a second entrance for busy days and a new ATM. The gift shop will be selling sweatshirts for the first time, and the Kookaburra Kafe will be operating on a daily basis.

Zoo superintendent Beth Rich knows the experience won’t be complete without plenty of visitors.

“A zoo is all about connecting people with our wildlife and our animals,? Rich said. ?To be able to have the public back, get them to see our animals, interact with our animals, connect with our animals, is my favorite thing.”

The zoo will open Saturday morning at 9.
