Fremont Co. ATV Victim Identified

One person is dead and another injured after an ATV accident in Fremont County on Wednesday night.

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office says they received a 911 call at 8:24 p.m. from a caller in the area east of Crapos Hill in the Egin Lakes area. Numerous emergency departments responded to the call, including Air Idaho.

Rescue crews found one person with head injuries and the second already dead, the sheriff’s office said. The victim has been identified as 70 year old Gary Clinton of Puyallup, Washington. 56 year old Burke Dean Hanks of St. Anthony was lifeflighted to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

The Fremont County Sheriff’s office said the men were riding in a Polaris 900 Razor 4-Seater ATV. They say it is unclear what the cause of the accident was. It was reported several hours after it happened and the accident scene was not reconstructable.

There was no indication that alcohol was involved.
