Elizabeth Pulsipher
When you need more than five fingers to count the number of extracurricular activities a student is involved in, you know they are a good candidate for the United Dairymen of Idaho Distinguished Student Award. Madison High School senior, Elizabeth Pulsipher is one such student.
Ballroom dancing is Elizabeth?s favorite extracurricular activity, but there are plenty more she enjoys.
“I’ve been involved in tennis, ballroom dance, student council, senior council now, I’ve also been involved in musicals ? ?Bye Bye Birdie? and ?The Music Man,? Elizabeth says.
All those activities keep Elizabeth very busy, but she wouldn’t have it any other way.
“I think that getting involved makes you more connected to the people around you, and I think it’s really essential to having the best high school experience that you can possibly have,” Elizabeth says.
Elizabeth plans to go to Brigham Young University in Provo and study child speech development and therapy. It’s not easy to get into BYU and she credits her classes at Madison High School.
“My AP classes I feel are really preparing me well for college,? Elizabeth says. ?They’re really hard but it’s been a good experience for me.”
Elizabeth is excited to graduate and move on, but before she does she has some advice for those entering high school.
“I would say be optimistic and look at everything with a positive attitude, and reach out to as many people as you can, because you’d be surprised at how many people you get to know and how many people become really good friends,” Elizabeth says.
