Police: Man Peered Into Occupied Stalls At Civic Auditorium

An Idaho Falls man was arrested on charges of felony indecent exposure and burglary after police say he was caught peering into occupied restroom stalls at the Civic Auditorium.

George Robert Jones, 57, had a previous conviction of indecent exposure in 2002, according to a news release from the Idaho Falls police.

Police said they responded to the Civic Auditorium on Holmes Ave. at about 5:50 p.m. Saturday after a report of a man peering into the stalls. When they arrived, officers found Jones being detained by two other men who had stopped Jones when he tried to flee.

Police said a victim said Jones came into the women?s restroom and was viewing women using the toilet. He also exposed himself, police said.

Police said the burglary charge was applied to Jones because he was going to a place he wasn?t authorized to go into, in this case the women?s restroom.

The Idaho Sex Offender Registry classifies Jones as a violent sexual predator.

Jones was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
