Police: Man Wasn’t Breathing After Pocatello Home Invasion

Pocatello police are investigating a home invasion in which the suspect was hurt.

Police and fire units were on scene at 2233 S. Second after a 911 call at noon Tuesday reporting a man who dove through a window.

Police said the man was inside the house when they arrived. The suspect had gotten cut up when diving through the window, they said. Police said he was exhibiting violent behavior and had to subdue him with a Taser.

Neighbor said fire department paramedics were doing chest compressions on the suspect. While being treated, the suspect became unresponsive, was not breathing and had no pulse, police said Tuesday afternoon.

He was taken from the scene by ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center, where he is being treated. The full extent of his injuries is not known.

His identity has not yet been released.

We will update this story as new information becomes available. Pocatello police said the investigation has been turned over to the Idaho State Police Investigations Division.
