Lisa Stewart

One of the talented leads in Hillcrest High School?s upcoming production of ?Oliver? is United Dairymen if Idaho Distinguished Student Award recipient, Lisa Stewart

“I’m super excited about it,? Lisa said. ?I love musicals. I’ve always loved music.”

Music is one of Lisa’s passions in life.

“It’s something that portrays so many different emotions, and so often we get caught up in words, and music tells it in such a different way, in a way that touches them to their soul,” Lisa said.

Being involved in productions like ?Oliver? makes up for a big disappointment in Lisa’s life. She had been an elite member of the award winning Extreme Ballroom competition team, but she broke her foot. Rather than feeling sorry for herself, she concentrated on her theatrical interest. She also concentrates on her academics.

“Academics is what paves the way for everyone,? Lisa said. ?In this day and age you cannot do anything if you don’t have an education.”

Looking ahead, Lisa plans to study music and dancing at BYU. But looking back at high school she has this advice for students to succeed.

“Don’t procrastinate,? Lisa said. ?Just be on top of things.”
