Man Tased By Police Dies

The man who police tased after they say he dove through the glass window of a Pocatello home is dead. Idaho State Police Captain Eric Dayley said Kevin Benglan died around 6 p.m. on Wednesday. An autopsy on the 26-year-old will be performed on Thursday to determine a cause of death. Benglan was unresponsive and not breathing when he was taken to Portneuf Medical Center on Tuesday. Police said Benglan was inside a house at 2233 South 2nd Street when they arrived. Benglan had gotten cut up when diving through the window; police said he was exhibiting violent behavior and had to subdue him with a Taser.

An anonymous family friend said the police should not have tased Benglan, and instead, should have used another way to subdue him.
