Police: Father And Son Beat Man For Alleged Relationship
A father and son from Rigby were arrested Thursday night after police said they beat a man at the Civic Auditorium in Idaho Falls.
Jack Clayton Gilbert, 49, and Chance Christian Gilbert, 19, were charged with aggravated battery and were booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
Police said the beating came as a result of an alleged relationship the 35-year-old victim had with the wife of Jack Gilbert.
Officers responded to the auditorium at about 7 p.m. in reference to a disturbance. According to witnesses, the Gilberts were punching and kicking a man.
Jack and Chance Gilbert left the auditorium before the police arrived. They were later stopped in a white Chevy pickup at the corner of First Street and Holmes Avenue.
According to a news release, the victim suffered injuries to his face and head. He was transported by ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
